Why me?

I have no idea what I ate or drank or what kind of bug I have contracted but I've been running to the bathroom every twenty mins since last night.

Chi was a sweetheart and gave me some Asian herbal tummy problem pills

I don't know what these people are thinking, but apparently rabbit turds cure all kinds of digestive problems.

And then Chi tells me later that these little suckers actually have something in them like cigarette tar. So don't take too much. Hooray homeopathy.

children in zombie movies= superfluous

I believe a fellow friend of mine and a supreme movie buff agree on this. Children have no place in post zombie epidemic world especially when it comes to surviving those first few months. They not only have no defensive skills (shooting things on xbox doesn't count as training) and they take up resources that could otherwise be used to protecting more valuable members of your newly formed survival tribe of ass-kickers, breeders, and assorted professionals.

The Leader
The Dr.
The Teacher

Don't get me wrong, the world needs kids more than ever after wiping out most of the population. They just need to come along after zombie proof fortresses have been fortified and everyone has had a few months of zombie eradication training.

Spoiler Alert (but who didn't see it coming anyways)

Annoying child #1 Sophia from Walking Dead

Sophia (the kid that wandered away after being told to stay put, who got lost after being found and again wandered away after being told to stay put, and then got zombified after people wasted time and energy on looking for her) is an excellent example of a kid that just had it coming. Superfluous to both the plot and zombieland in general I was happy she was taken out of the story, why did it have to take so freaking long though? We all knew she was long gone, it was just a matter of finding mutilated remains or infected walking corpse. No teddy bear-toting rainbow shirt-wearing pre-teen who is in charge of washing clothes is really worth a week's worth of searching for. I am glad there is closure, and she finally got the bullet in the head she was destined for.

Annoying Child #2 ? from Walking dead

The Cop's son ( I even forget his name, that's how much I find him useless) not only wanders off, but never responds to his name. His mom calls, his dad calls, everyone freaking calls his name and he's never within earshot of someone with a gun. That right there is in direct opposition to survival of the fittest; you know how much time is spent wasted on looking for this useless kid?

No one bothers to teach him how to shoot, his mom does everything to keep him 'safe' and not 'jaded to violence' while people are ripped to shreds and rotting in front of him.

He opens cars doors with bodies inside, he loses himself in the woods and pokes zombies with sticks, he steals guns and doesn't use them directly resulting in the death of a valuable member of the team...I mean kid who goes looking for trouble vs. mechanic...the choice is obvious.

Solution: children who annoy you = zombie bait

Simply tell little Carl (that's that crappy kid's name!) to "Stay where you are..." hide yourself behind a tree/car/anything and wait and watch while little Carl get's distracted by something shiny or has to pee or just decides that you've been gone long enough and will go look for you armed with a stick or a piece of glass and let him lead away any hidden zombies that seem to pop up out of no where even in areas that have been cleared before.

I'd imagine child zombies are easier to kill; less force needed to sever spinal cord, shorter reach and less penetrating bite.

Awesome Children

child #1 little rock from Zombieland

Not only was she capable of defending herself, she has mastered the art of manipulation and has no qualms about leaving other people for dead, she isn't burdened by any mother whose efforts to keep her safe include getting her shot (like Carl) or getting someone else eaten (like Carl).

child #2 Hannah from 28 Days Later

While not useful in a defensive sense, she makes an effective pack mule and has nothing to lose. She even magically learns to drive a car and provide means of escape from mansion of not safety. I suppose being tall enough to reach gas pedals can make you somewhat of an asset in a drive-like-the-wind kind of situation.

This has been brought to you by gerber anti-zombie weapons and an extreme annoyance with Walking Dead. Specifically the end of season 1 and the beginning of season 2.

I know I missed some more useless kids and even a few useful ones. Can you think of any? I'd love to illustrate more zombie attacks on the underage!

apologies

With sincerest apologies.

I had no idea you had to do a word verification before commenting. That is super lame and I hate those things. I don't know about you but there is no upside down 'e' or backwards '4' on my key board.

So sorry, with pandas and sheep and sprinkles on top.

something on the roof,or outside somewhere

I'm sitting here being not lazy just resting my aching feet and muscles because I so have totally been going to the gym. And then. There's this noise that sounds like a thump. Or a bump. Or the sound when you drop something squishy on the outside and hard on the inside (like a hamster) on some kind of hollow surface.

My first thought is to look around and see that I didn't knock anything over with my telekinetic powers that as of yet have to show them selves but I practice everyday. (late bloomer) Why I thought this when the sound was distinctly from outside my general vicinity and on the roof I have no idea.

So then I thought of three things it could be.

1: a cat
2: someone's pigeon that has been released from kidnapping and is staggering back to its pen to eat for the first time in 12 hours.
3: the neighbors elderly mom. I hear she falls all the time. But they moved out awhile ago. So maybe they left her here?
Now it sounds like more stuff falling, a whole pile of stuff.

Oh, I think new neighbors are moving in.

go scrabble knock off!

I was totally going to do something today...

I was almost so productive today:

I made an awesome list of things I needed to do.

I laid out my workout clothes from sports bra to shoes in preparation for hitting the gym...sometime later today...or in the future.

I updated iTunes (in preparation for putting new music on my ancient shuffle in preparation for jogging later today...or sometime in the future)

I even busted out the electronic dictionary and started looking up photo studios here in Taipei to get my engagement pictures done (it's pretty awesome I recommend this blog entry for an in depth look at what really goes on)

And then, what the hell...I have an hour and half before I have to go to work.

I've found three studios and some personal accounts from random online people about each one. Have to ask my soon to be other half what he wants out of these pictures. I have my clothes all ready for tomorrow when I totally will go to the gym for real this time. I'll have my music all ready too.

And now New Moon is on tv, so I have background nonsense while I type this out and think of illustrating it.

fashion photography makes me happy

If Tyra Banks were interviewing me for America's Next Top Model and asked me who my three favorite photographers were, I'd so have an answer (not like most of the air heads that end up on that show)

1) David LaChapelle-
Nothing ever looks real, everything looks extraordinary. The settings are alien and everything is super saturated and storytelling. I want this dude to take my wedding photos.

Courtney Love shot by David LaChapelle
Pieta with Courtney Love

2) Mario Testino
I love what he does when he's back on his home continent, everything from Brazil Vogue to his portraits from Peru. There's joy, vibrance and life in his photos not to mention gorgeous men and women wearing clothes to die for. Fashion isn't about walking down a runway with 50 yards of tulle and vinyl but people actually wearing clothes.

3) nick knight: If the model is just standing still, then they're rocking some freaky McQueen getup and have three foot tall hair, blue skin or safety pins on their face. But hardly ever do I see a picture of his where there isn't some kind of movement going on. Nothing is static, there's always ruffles or hair or limbs flying all over the place, or caught in the act .

I've finally gone through every episode of every season of anything that was the right file type for the PS3 to play. Time to switch to the old laptop and watch everything that wouldn't play. Which includes Mad Men, Deadwood, and the sixth season of House. I'll start with Mad Men. I have a hard time believing everyone was really that drunk and lets just say 'abrupt' (which means such an a-hole) in the 60's.

That's my take on half of season one so far...At least the women have more interesting problems than the men.

Vacation officially over

I have returned. Today. Although my flight got back in Wed. afternoon, it's taken until Saturday to truly finally return to almost normal. I say almost because for the first time in like six years I picked up a bucket ( small bucket shaped container) of prunes. And have been eating them instead of lunch for three days.

They're certainly shaking things up, down, and a little side to side. Not in a good way.

But other than that vacation has officially ended. I've cleaned the kitchen.

One of my students has successfully online stalked me and found me on fb, reminding me to be careful what kind of vacation pictures I post.
